John Tierney

John has been playing drums for over 30 years. John spent the nineties and naughties playing, touring and recording. From Kilkenny, John began teaching drums at the age of 21 while working in Essaness Music Kilkenny. During this time he worked as a session drummer, while also playing as part of the orchestra in the Watergate Theatre Kilkenny.
John has also appeared on RTE and BBC television programs.
Having studied drums in Trinity College London John has continued his pursuit of knowledge and education by studying with some of the worlds leading educators such as Claus Hessler, Chad Wackerman, Mark Kelso, and Chris Coleman, to name but a few. John opened Rhythm Drum School in Athenry Galway in 2013. Since then John has grown the school to a point where it has achieved international recognition. So much so that John has created an annual international event. The Galway Drum Show brings the international drumming to Galway every year for this boutique festival of all thing drums.
Adam Downey

Adam is a professional drummer from Gort, Co.Galway. He studied drums at Rhythm Drum School and graduated from the University of Limerick with a Masters Degree in Community Music. He also holds a Masters Degree in Community Development from NUIG.
Adam has toured extensively worldwide and recorded with many different artists. He regularly performs with artists such as Jamie Harrison, Tracy Bruen and Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies. In between gigging and recording he works with Music Generation Galway as a drum tutor and also delivers workshops in a variety of topics including songwriting, music recording and movie making.
